Tuulen’s journey takes him miles south over open planes and around the southern meer forest. When he arrives in the human city of Tooledge, built on the side of a cliff, he finds every person in the city in a circle surrounding a tree. He joins them and learns that they are mourning the death of Prince Arthur (who died during the Soulak raid). Upon their departure, Tuulen follows the king’s entourage to the palace. As the king and queen enter their modest hall, the doors shut behind them and the entourage went their separate ways.

Tuulen then stops, puts his hood up, looks down, and passes into the world of ghosts. When he’s inside, he fades into the world of the living. Two guards charge him, but fall asleep at that wave of Tuulen’s hand. The king unsheaths his sword and stands in front of his wife. Tuulen then assures him that he means no harm and comes to offer the king a chance to avenge his son’s death. The king agrees, but not at the will of his wife.

The next day, King Laars sends out riders to all parts of his limited kingdom to find riders that are willing to fight for the freedom of their children and to avenge the prince’s death (put the actual decree). King Laars isn’t optimistic about the turnout but Tuulen assures him that good men answer when evil stands to triumph.

Feno’lin and his men stared into the very eyes of their death. Several men started to panic and started running until Feno’lin walked out in front of his men and conjured a speach.

“My fellow men. Though we stand at death’s door fighting for our very future, I assure you, we are not alone. For we fight along side our fallen breatheren who died fighting the very same fight, with our children who WILL have a future, and side by side of EACH OTHER, who WILL not leave you in your time of need. So FIGHT; FIGHT for your children, FIGHT for your woman, and FIGHT for each other!”

With his last few words, he raised his sword high into the air which sent a mighty shout through his ranks. Feno’lin, inspired by his own men’s roar, set forth a full charge that built up tremendous momentum. Onward they ran, full speed roaring the entire way until they smashed into the ranks of the Jiri and cut through their lines like a knife through butter. They fought without mercy and as if they knew they would not die that day. In hazed bloodlust, Feno’lin looked up after beheading the last standing Jiri warrior of the group. He looked around, noticing the advancing lines of the Jiri to their rear and flank and, a staggering number of his men who lay dead, and Harim (now the meer btw) lying dead on the ground with a sword protruding from his belly.

With warm words and solid hand-shake, Feno’lin let Harim’s life extinguish.

Feno’lin then called his men to make haste piling their fallen breathren and surrounding them facing their enemy, and so they did. They stood there, a much smaller group then they started out with, prepared to die that day. All hope seemed lost.

When the Jiri had advanced close enough to be within shouting distance, they stopped. One large Jiri stepped forward and let out a mighty roar that made even Feno’lin’s hair stand on end. When he finished his roar, he took a breath and prepared to continue. Before the Jiri could start his roar, he was interrupted by a low-pitched horn to their rear. The Jiri in front stopped, turned around, and shouted a few words that caused the entire force behind him to turn to the rear.

On the hill was Tuulen and King Laars in front with 10 or so men appearing on horseback behind him. Laars then raised his arm which brought to showing over 4,000 mounted horsemen. Upon lowering his arm, Laars rode to the far left side of his line, unsheathed his sword and started riding down his lines, sword in air, shouting “RIDE FOR FREEDOM, RIDE FOR VENGANCE, RIDE FOR YOUR CHILDREN!” He then galloped up next to Tuulen, faced his men, and shouted “CHARGE!” Tuulen and Laars started charging full speed towards the roaring Jiri, followed by 4,000 mounted swordsman and archers following close behind.

[tomorrow: feno’lin calls a charge on the jiri who are now surrounded and laars and tuulen charge through the jiri ranks full force until riding straight past Feno’lin’s forces and circling around for a second pass, destroying the jiri army]
