Superstitions
Man made superstitions
Grasp us by our feet
Rape us into perdition
Steal our dreams while we sleep
Toy with our seditions
Hurl our souls into the deep
Dull our suspicions
Conceal the shadows where demons sleep
Man made superstitions
Grasp us by our feet
Rape us into perdition
Steal our dreams while we sleep
Toy with our seditions
Hurl our souls into the deep
Dull our suspicions
Conceal the shadows where demons sleep
Stumbling to the door
Square shine safety safe from death
Didn’t open it
A curtain covering body and mind
Feel every thread caressing my skin
A focus turns to a gaze as my eyes forget how to see
My mind wanders from task to nothing, task to something different
Can hear the music playing
But I only know of it
Don’t listen to the lyrics or notes
Euphoria isn’t the right word
More like a brick blanket over me than a magic carpet under me
A white piece of paper clean and new
Brought together all that we knew
One line divides us and brings it all down
Makes us chose sides with wounds renown
Healing can start but not with erasing
Forgiving the crime along with embracing
While the lines will never again fade
The reason we’re whole will always have stayed
